Avidity Science™ Expands Biomedical Research Solutions Through Acquisition of Bio Medic Data Systems, Hydropac®, Lab Products, Inc., and Harford Systems

Waterford, WI | October 26, 2020 – Today, Avidity Science announces significant steps in expanding its global leadership in biomedical research solutions via the acquisition of Bio Medic Data Systems, Hydropac®, Lab Products, Inc., and Harford Systems. These investments expand Avidity’s portfolio of water purification and delivery products, control and monitoring solutions, and service capabilities to enhance its support of the global biomedical research community.

These are challenging times that we are facing as a country and worldwide as a result of the COVID-19 virus. None of us could have imagined 6 months ago that we would be where we are today. Our BMDS team has been working around the clock responding to customer service needs and orders being placed.

Our US manufacturing plant is working at full capacity insuring that orders are filled and deliverd on a timely basis. Through all these challenges we have been able to move forward at a rapid pace, releasing new RFID Lab Animal Identification technologies to meet the ever-increasing demands of Biomedical Research.

We realized that a new website would be needed in order to introduce visitors to these new products and inform our current customers.

DAS-8002 Programming Station is a desktop electronic system for programming the user ID into BMDS writable transponders. The system is completely self-contained and does NOT need to be connected to a computer. It is compatible with IPT, IPTT, and XPT BMDS Programable transponder types.

The new DAS-8002 is a cost-efficient “All-In-One” dedicated device for programming

BMDS injectable transponders while in the needle. This new product consolidates the normally separate probe and controller assembly into a single cost-effective package. In place of a cabled probe, is a built-in electronic “hole”, which is designed to needle packaged transponder without disturbing its sterilization.

DAS-8016 and DAS-8017 Pocket Readers are handheld electronic systems for reading and displaying the user ID in BMDS transponders. The system is small in size and is a completely self-contained portable reader. It can be connected directly to a computing device’s USB port where it is detected as a serial port through which data can be transmitted. A wireless keyboard out is also accessible.

The DAS-8016 reads IMI-400, IMI-500, and IMI-1000 and the DAS-8017 reads both XPT-100, IPT-300, and the IPTT-300 transponders. This new head, while naturally reducing the overall bulk and size of the reader, also offers a more focused read zone.

KP-8018 and KP-8019 The Keyboard Probes are handheld electronic systems for reading the user ID in BMDS transponders. The Probes are small in size and are designed to be connected directly to a computing device’s USB port where it is detected as a keyboard (HID) input. Full wireless operation is also available. 

The KP-8018 reads IMI-400, IMI-500, and IMI-1000 and the KP-8019 reads both XPT-100, IPT-300, and the IPTT-300 transponders. This new head, while naturally reducing the overall bulk and size of the reader, also offers a more focused read zone.

DAS-8027 BLU portable reader system with Bluetooth communication capability.

Data collected by the reader can be wirelessly transmitted to any device with a Bluetooth keyboard connection. This can be done in real-time or from the saved data in the reader’s memory.

The DAS-8027 BLU reads and programs XPT-100, IPT-300, and the IPTT-300 with temperature transponders.
